Welcome to “Here and There”
I’m Yulia, and I plan all my trips on my own — from flights and hotels to routes and travel hacks.
I started this blog to turn my travels into something useful for other explorers.
You’ll find notes, tips and inspiration from the cities and countries I’ve visited — maybe they’ll guide your next trip.
I prefer active adventures over lounging like a “seal” by the pool at an all-inclusive hotel — I can just as well relax on my sofa at home. When I travel, I try to see and do as much as possible, so I plan ahead, but always leave room for spontaneity.
I also don’t go to extremes: all the trips on this blog are budgeted for a middle range. That means you won’t find five-star luxury hotels, yacht rentals, or even much about hiring a car — I’d rather use public transport where possible, and only occasionally grab a taxi.
At the same time, you won’t find “life hacks” about couchsurfing, crashing with strangers, boiling eggs with a travel heater in a hostel bathroom, or tips on fighting the homeless for expired supermarket meals.
Balance — not luxury, but not dumpster-diving either 🙂
Kyrgyzstan in focus
Kyrgyzstan holds a special place in my heart. Since 2019, I’ve been actively travelling across my own country and I’m still discovering new routes and hidden gems. In Kyrgyzstan, it’s not only about going to the mountains — you can also have a great time in Bishkek. I love checking out new restaurants, bars, coffee shops and exhibitions — and sharing those experiences here.

I really love taking photos and visiting “Instagrammable” places, so I tend to choose beautiful locations over extreme activities.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t like adventures — they always manage to find me anyway 🙂

Why “Here and There”?
The name of this blog comes from the questions I kept hearing from friends and acquaintances:
“Oh, you’re back already? I thought you were living in …” or “Weren’t you just in ?”
Over the past few years, I’ve spent several months living in three different countries on three continents and have visited around 18 countries. So my answer was always the same — of course, I’m constantly here and there!
